Drink a tea pay 1 Rupee tax !!

I had a visit to Guruvayur temple during my vacation. I took a tea from the temple near KTDC Mangalya restaurant. And i feel proud by paying them 13.50 % tax (VAT). Its really squeezing the temple visitors on behalf of VAT. Actually is it necessary to pay 1 rupee as tax for a Tea?. At the same time there is no separate VAT on any other restaurants in Guruvayur. Most of the hotels in Guruvayur not maintaining any hygiene or cleanliness. The attention of the Govt authorities is urgently need to draw in to these matters to make the temple visit a really holy experience to the devotees.
